Nseleni boxing club was established in 2000 and since have grown to become a strong and successful club. Their success can be measured with the amount of talent produced in recent years. Saturday 13 September 2008, Nseleni Boxing club attended the provincial boxing championship in Dundee which was aimed at selecting the provincial team to represent KwaZulu Natal at National level the end of September 2008. Three boxers from Nseleni club took part this year; Sabelo Matrose 16, Thulani Nkosi 14 and Siyabonga Mthiyane 12.
The main attraction fight was between Sabelo Matrose and Muzi Mvimbi of Durban, and both fighters are known for their skills. Sabelo won his fight on points decision which in turn awarded him best boxer of the tournament. Siyabonga attended this tournament for the first time and was awarded with a silver medal. The National championship will be held in Gauteng at the end of September during the school holidays. KwaZulu Natal relies on Sabelo and Muzi to bring gold medals from this tournament.

In 2013 Sphesihle Mthethwa won national gold medal at senior national championships.

Future prospects are; Sandile Mthiyane, Sanele Mtshali, Sakhile Tembe, Luyanda Mthethwa.
These athletes have displayed mercurial talent at times during tournaments and championships, and we expect more to come from them.
